Welcome Gareth Thomas, our new Tri-Community Peace Officer shared with the Village of Beiseker and the Village of Acme!
The Village of Beiseker entered into a Service Agreement with the Town of Irricana and the Village of Acme in July, 2023. The Tri-Community agreement sought to provide enforcement services to the three municipalities. The Peace Officer’s role has a diverse and dynamic set of responsibilities regarding the Tri-Community Agreement, with the primary responsibility of enforcing municipal bylaws, animal control and all provincial statutes including traffic, for which enforcement authority has been granted, through the terms of their Peace Officer Appointment with the Village of Beiseker.

We are excited to announce a positive change that will contribute to the overall well-being of our community. After five years without dedicated enforcement, we are introducing Peace Officer Gareth Thomas to assist in upholding our community’s standards.
We’re confident that this step will help ensure that our community remains a wonderful place to live and are thrilled with Gareth’s genuine dedication to creating a safe and harmonious environment for all residents.
We understand that times have changed, and it’s natural that some may have questions about the reintroduction of enforcement. It will take some time for everyone (including the Town itself) to adjust but we’re excited about the future and fostering a shared understanding of our community rules.
Our approach to bylaw enforcement remains focused on education first. Peace Officer Thomas will prioritize open communication and guidance to help residents understand our community guidelines better and his goal is to work collaboratively with you to address any questions or concerns you may have.
While education and working collaboratively is our primary approach, we want to be transparent that ticketing may be used as a last resort. Our aim is always to find resolutions together, ensuring that everyone can enjoy a peaceful and thriving community.
