Irricana Property Taxes for 2026 were mailed out on May 29, 2026 and are due by June 30, 2026.
Understanding Your Property Tax Notice
The amount owing is shown under “Total Current Taxes Payable for 2026” and includes:
- Provincial Taxes & Levies – Amounts collected on behalf of the Province of Alberta.
- Municipal Taxes & Levies – Funding that supports local municipal operations, services, and infrastructure.
- External Taxes & Levies – Amounts collected for regional and external agencies.
- Current Outstanding Balance – Any unpaid taxes from previous years or account delinquencies, such as utility arrears transferred to the tax roll in accordance with municipal bylaws and provincial legislation.
Important Payment Information
2026 Property Taxes are due by June 30, 2026.
- Payments made on or after May 28, 2026 may not yet appear on your Property Tax Notice.
- Unpaid balances are subject to penalties in accordance with the Town’s Tax Penalty Bylaw (Bylaw 007:2022).
Payment Options
Property tax payments can be made using the following methods:
- In person at the Town Office during business hours
(Debit, cash, or cheque accepted) - After-hours payment drop box at the Town Office
(Cheques only) - By mail
(Payments must be postmarked on or before the due date) - Online or telephone banking through your financial institution

- Please confirm your daily transaction limit prior to attempting payment.
- Please note that limited cash is available to make change.
If your property taxes are paid through a financial institution, a copy of your 2026 Property Tax Notice has also been provided to them on your behalf.
2027 Prepayment Options
Once 2026 property taxes have been paid in full, residents may begin making prepayments toward their 2027 property taxes.
Tax Installment Payment Plan (TIPP)
The Town of Irricana offers a Tax Installment Payment Plan (TIPP) for residents who prefer to pay property taxes through monthly installments.
Benefits of TIPP include:
- Automatic monthly withdrawals on the first day of each month
- No additional fees or interest charges
- Convenient budgeting throughout the year
Prepayments may also be made by debit, cash, cheque, online banking, or telephone banking. Please note that post-dated cheques are not accepted. All prepayments are automatically credited to your property tax account.
Seniors Property Tax Deferral Program
Eligible senior homeowners may be able to defer all or part of their municipal property taxes with a low-interest home equity loan through the YourAlberta (Government of Alberta) Seniors Property Tax Deferral Program.
