Gopher Control for the Town of Irricana has been scheduled for the week of May 11-15, 2026. Additional dates may be announced over the Summer. Five key areas will be treated:
- A – Irricana Cemetery (Henricks Dr)
- B – South Soccer Field (Henricks Dr)
- C – Irricana Off-Leash Dog Park (Henricks Dr)
- D – Irricana Municipal Campground + Founders Park Ball Diamonds (1st St)
- E – Main Town Entrance from Highway #9 + Greenspace (2nd Ave)
Signs will be posted in all affected areas informing residents and guests of treatment areas. We are happy to note that this treatment consists of non-hazardous mustard seed, which is not toxic-pesticide based. Although there is no risk to residents or pets, we encourage everyone to avoid these areas as the remaining holes are being filled.
RoCon is a non-toxic, poison-free, foaming rodenticide registered with Health Canada for use in controlling Richardson Ground Squirrels and Norway Rats. It’s ideal for our intended use as it targets the Richardson Ground Squirrel while keeping the area safe for residents, pets, and non-targeted species. Source
