For better or worse, winter has arrived! The region received over 30cm of snow accumulation over a 3-day span and another 2-4cm of snow is expected in the next 2 days. Our Public Works Team is managing current snow placement capacity and are preparing for the next snowfall.
The Town of Irricana is ready to keep our roads and pathways safe this winter by following a newly adopted Winter Maintenance Policy!
Hereโs what you need to know, generally:
Priority Roads: Emergency roads and arterial roads are cleared first (within 24 hours), followed by neighborhood streets (within 48 hours after a snow event).
Sidewalks: Town pathways and sidewalks are cleared within 48 hours. Residential sidewalks are the homeowners responsibility, and the Snow Angel program is available for those needing help.
Parking Bans: Watch for signs on snow routes. Temporary signs will appear at least 24 hours prior to a parking ban.
For more detailed information, please review the Winter Maintenance Policy (and associated procedure) on the Town Website or contact the Town Office.
