The Water Distribution System went offline briefly this morning (Monday, October 30, 2023) and water service was temporarily lost between 4:49am and 5:15am. As designed, the system notified our Public Works team who promptly switched the system to “Manual Operation” and restored service. No further service disruptions are expected, and the system is operating safely.
The system operator and Alberta Environment have been notified, are actively supporting the Town, and water remains safe for normal use and consumption. Following discussion with Alberta Environment, the Town’s recommendation to boil water is no longer necessary, however, the Town continues with enhanced water testing and line flushing out of an abundance of caution.
