Regular Water System Maintenance
The Town of Irricana and Rocky View Utility Corporation has scheduled our annual water main flushing for the week of July 13, 2026. Work will be conducted from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM.
Water main flushing is an important part of maintaining our water distribution system and is part of federally and provincially legislated water quality requirements.
During flushing, you may notice:
- Temporary fluctuations in water pressure
- Slight discolouration or cloudiness in your water; simply run a cold water tap until the water runs clear. Discolouration does not affect the safety or quality of your water.
How does flushing work?
Water main flushing is routine maintenance that uses high-velocity water from fire hydrants to remove sediment, mineral deposits, and any remaining debris from the water distribution system following repairs. This process helps maintain clean, safe, and reliable drinking water for the community.
